Lead-acid battery safety precautions and storage instructions

Safety precautions and storage instructions for lead-acid batteries

Safety precautions:

1. There is strong corrosive sulfuric acid in the battery. Keep away from children. Please take protective measures when installing and inspecting. If acid splashes on the skin or clothes, please rinse it with plenty of water immediately. If it is serious, please send it to the hospital for treatment immediately.

2. Do not short-circuit or connect the positive and negative electrodes of the battery, otherwise it may cause click fire accident.

3. Suitable conductors should be used for battery connection, and the connection end should be firm, otherwise fire or heat will occur.

4. When the battery is charged and used, a large number of hydrogen and oxygen gases are produced. Do not approach open fire or high temperature heat source, otherwise explosion accident may occur. Direct exposure of batteries to sunlight is strictly prohibited in high temperature season.

5. In order to improve the performance of batteries, discharging, undercharging or overcharging are strictly prohibited during use.

Storage and use;

1. Batteries should generally be stored in 5-25º C should be dry and well ventilated. No upside down or lying down, no mechanical impact or pressure. Excessive ambient temperature will have a great impact on the performance of battery.

2. Before charging, please measure the terminal voltage of the battery. If the terminal voltage of the battery is greater than 12.5v, it should be recharged and used.

3. When installing batteries, a small amount of Vaseline should be coated on the end column to prevent corrosion. Connect the positive and negative electrodes of the battery with the positive and negative electrodes of the electrical appliances. Connections should be firm and reliable. Striking the end columns is strictly prohibited. Please fasten the battery after connecting.

4. Check whether the exhaust holes are blocked when using. Batteries with deficiency caused by various reasons should be replenished in time.

5. When charging the battery, it should be carried out in a well ventilated environment with a temperature of 10-30&ordm.

6. If the batteries installed on the vehicle are not used for a long time (more than one month), they should be removed and stored after flushing, and charged every two months by supplementary method.

7. In order to protect the environment, waste batteries should be recycled by dealers and handled properly.
