Fast charging method of battery

1. Constant current constant period fast charging method

The method is characterized in that the battery is charged by a pulse charging current with a constant current amplitude and a constant period, and a discharge pulse is depolarized between the two charging pulses to improve the charging acceptance of the battery. During charging, the charging current and its pulse width are not affected by the state of charge of the battery. Therefore, it is an open loop pulse charging. This charging method tends to make the battery full of capacity, but if the protection device against overcharging is not added, it is easy to cause strong overcharge and affect the service life of the battery. In this charging method, although the entire charging process is added with depolarization measures, such fixed depolarization measures are difficult to meet the requirements of the entire charging process.

2, constant current fixed gas rate pulse charge discharge depolarization fast charging method

The characteristic of this charging method is that the amplitude of the charging current pulse and the outgassing rate of the battery remain unchanged throughout the charging process. At the beginning of the charging process, the charging current is slightly lower than the initial acceptance current of the battery. During the charging process, since the acceptable current of the battery is gradually reduced, after a period of time, the charging current will exceed the acceptable current of the battery, so that more gas will be generated in the battery, and the outgassing rate is significantly increased. At this time, the gas detecting element can issue a control signal in time to force the battery to stop charging and perform short-time discharge. Thus, the polarization inside the battery quickly disappears, so that the outgassing rate can always be kept at a lower predetermined value. At present, there are such programs abroad. There is little research on this method in China due to the lack of gas sensitive components.

3, constant current constant voltage pulse charging discharge depolarization fast charging method

The charging method is characterized in that it is charged at a constant large current, and when it is charged to a certain voltage (corresponding to the voltage of the battery outlet point), the charging is stopped and a large current (or small current) discharge is depolarized, and then constant. The large current is charged, and accordingly, the charging and discharging process is alternately performed. The frequency of the discharge pulse increases as the charge is increased, and the width of the charge pulse decreases as the amount of charge increases. When the amount of charge and the amount of discharge are substantially equal, it means that the battery is fully charged and the charging is terminated immediately.

According to this method, there are various solutions at home and abroad to achieve rapid charging of the battery. This method has no depolarization measures at the beginning of charging. After the depolarization measure is added, the charging pulse width is continuously reduced, so that the average value of the charging current drops faster, and the charging time is prolonged.

4, constant current boost voltage pulse charging discharge depolarization fast charging method

This method is an improvement of the constant current constant voltage pulse charging discharge depolarization fast charging method. It is charged with a constant current (such as IC). When the battery voltage reaches the charging outlet point voltage (single cell voltage 2.35~2.5V), stop charging and discharge (such as discharge current 2~3C, pulse width) For 1ms), then recharge ⋯⋯. After the depolarization pulse is applied, the charging device is stepped to increase the charging control voltage (increasing the outlet point voltage) to speed up the charging and increase the fullness. Others are the same as the constant current constant voltage method.

5, constant voltage fixed frequency pulse charge discharge depolarization fast charging method

The characteristic of this method is that the voltage amplitude of the charging pulse is kept constant. As the charging process progresses, the battery electromotive force gradually rises, the charging current amplitude gradually decreases, and the charging pulse current frequency is constant, between the two charging pulses. A discharge depolarization pulse is applied.

6, terminal voltage and charge and discharge frequency selection pulse charge discharge depolarization fast charge method

The characteristic of this method is that the frequency of the charge and discharge pulse is selected according to the polarization condition in the charging process of the battery, and the battery terminal voltage is limited to a preselected value at the later stage of charging, so that the outgassing rate is limited to a certain allowable value.

7. Adapt to the whole process of depolarization pulse charging discharge depolarization fast charging method

The characteristic of this method is that a depolarizing discharge pulse is added in the whole process of charging, and the depolarization effect is detected before the charging current is restored after the discharge pulse, and a certain depolarization effect is obtained, and then the charging is switched back to charging. Otherwise, the depolarization discharge is performed again, and the effect of the depolarization requirement is turned back to the charging, so that the depolarization measure can be adapted to the whole process. This solution effectively suppresses the amount of gas evolution to a small value.
